My 5 month old hen seems to have injured her leg. She is having trouble putting pressure on it. It is not bumblefoot or frostbite and doesn't appear broken. We have tried 1/2 baby aspirin each day (it's been 5 days now) and vitamins (B complex, E, Selenium and poly vi-sol no iron). She will eat and drink if we bring it to her and also tries to walk on it to get to what she wants I noticed today when I touch up near her hip she winces in pain so I'm thinking it's more a hip injury. I've had her soak in Epson salts a couple of times and have her separated from the group living indoors right now. Any suggestions?

Welcome to BYC. Sorry about your pullet. Injuries are very common around coops, and a bad sprain can take weeks to improve. The higher on the leg the injury, the less likely complete recovery happens. If a vet is at all possible, they can get xrays, but that may not be possible. If you can separate her with her own food and water in a dog crate, but leave her with the other chickens you can force rest. Take her out every day or so, and see how she is walking. Some use chicken slings when they cannot get up and down to reach food. But some do not tolerate them. You can Google “chicken slings and chairs” for pictures.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do have her seperated and she is actually in the house with us. I had another chicken out of coop for about 2 weeks and was able to re-introduce her back in so hoping this will work again. I'm wondering if she can move her leg, if that signifies that it's a sprain rather than broken. Also wondering if chickens legs ever "pop out of the socket" as humans do although I would think that would be so painful that she couldn't even stand on it.
