Passing into history. No more.

Jerry Lewis will no longer be the spokesman. No reason given.

How sad...all my life, there has been Jerrys Kids. A true american icon.

Yes, there will still a MSD Telethon just no longer with Jerry Lewis.
Seems like I've watched that every year since time began.

I liked the Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis movies. Some Dean Martin songs,
but most of all I have a great respect for Jerry Lewis and "his" telethon.

I don't think there was ever a reason given as to why Jerry Lewis gave
so much to this cause. But I know that whatever the reason, Jerry Lewis
gave so much to Muscular Dystrophy.

I read the same information and wondered, WHY?

I believe the article said Jerry Lewis first began in 1966...45 years ago,
and has raised over 1.6 BILLION dollars.

What an wonderful gift this man gave to so many people.

Maybe an attempt to revitalize the telethon. I think I heard a couple years ago that it wasn't doing well and was going to be cancelled, or at least not aired.
or maybe it is a way for Jerry to retire, his health has been poor.

My dh, and his girls have CMT which is a form of MD. There is 40 different disease under MD.

I am sure Jerry is getting old and has poor health. I believe he has MD and probably why he has done so much to help all these years.

He has done a lot for MD and his kids. He will always be remembered here in our house. My dh's girls now 19 and 21 have gone to MDA camp every year for the last 15 years at no charge for a week. They love it so much they started going the last couple years now as counselors. They just went at the beginning of July this year too.
