Jersey Giant and Barred Rock Cross Breed

Does anybody have experience with Jersey Giant/Barred Rock cross breed for meat? I hear different things about JG. Slow growth equals bad taste or slow growth has more flavor. But since these are a cross would that still be an issue with the slow growth and how old would be the optimum time to process?

Have you found any good answers over the last 8 years? I want the best mix to give me a good 5 month foraging bird with the most weight. Something that will take care of it's self on food from last freeze to first freeze.

Goal 10 plus lb. in 5 months from foraging. Possible mixes could be a combination of the following

• Jersey Giant
• Cornish Indian Game
• Delaware
• Plymouth Rock (White or Barred)
• Faverolles
