Jersey Giant been broody for a 7-10 days

It is her first time and mine! She has been sitting on eggs all week. I left some under her but they are not fertile so I was thinking of getting some.
I would start with fertile hatching eggs. .I would hate to see you place day olds under her then discover that something has happened to the new chicks. I hope she'll be a great mom!

I’d leave her on the infertile eggs for a couple of weeks more and then slip some day old chicks under her. If she’s already been setting this long she may give up on fertile eggs before they’re ready to hatch. In my experience, anyway, my broodies usually quit the nest after 3 weeks or so if nothing hatches. It’s also a little hard on them to be broody for long. They lose condition while on the nest, and become more susceptible to mites the longer they sit.
