Was told this was a JG but clearly it’s not. Maybe a mix as it came from the same place but now I’m not sure. Not even sure if the sex. I’ve heard both. I’m at a loss. My others in the group are JG’s.

With the pea comb, beard, muffs, and feather pattern it appears to be an Easter Egger. What age is it? With the redness and size of the comb it looks like a cockerel depending on its age. Oh and :welcome.
It’s 10 wks old. Been with the JG’s from the start. I already have a rooster there. Should I integrate him with my leg horns and golden comets then? They are only 5-6wks so there’s a size difference. If I should what’s the best way do move him in? He’s so pretty I don’t want to rehome him and I do have room in a different coop for him so thought I’d ask. Thank you, this will be a beneficial group for me - glad to be here.

I don’t see JG traits in this one, as handsome as this (possible) male may be.

We’ve had a number of BJG, and hatched BJG mixed chicks. BJG dad and various hens, some EE hens. They were all black, but some had beard/muffs like EE. Also, they all had yellow feet bottoms (a trait of BJG) when they had BJG dad.

What about these? Do they have the BJG traits? I’m going to be so mad if I was lied to about these. I’m keeping them but I’ll be mad that 1. I was lied to and 2. They aren’t BJG. Soooooo what are your thoughts? This was about 2-3wks ago (outside) and the inside picture was when they were about 3-4wks old. They have black legs and yellow bottom feet. One has black and yellow legs with yellow bottom feet-that’s the other rooster.

I see non-yellow feet…more flesh color. It is an actual DQ in APA standards if there is no yellow in feet bottoms for BJG. And the yellow is yellow, not pale kinda yellow. This bottom foot color in your pics is more typical of Black Australorp.

BJG earlobes should be red, no streaks of white, no white.

BJG comb is single, with 5or6 points (can’t remember if 5 or 6 according to APA). But single comb.

BJG tail is wide and spreading, you won’t see this yet on your young ones. But, it is not a typical rooster tail we often see or associate with roosters. Yours look like they have regular tails, not BJG.

Back is flat, not swooping like a Black Australorp. The BJG back, when the are just standing, is really straight-horizontal to the ground. Again, in chicks might not be obvious.

Overall, I’m not sure you have BJG. They don’t really look like ones we had. We did have exhibition quality ones, and they were BIG. I can look for pics later.

It's not a jersey giant, but post an update when it's older, jg's become as big as 3 year old boys.
