jersey giants

I know this sounds strange but when they are little I will go in and sit in the coop with them while they are eating. When they are done, they will climb on my legs and sometimes head. I pick each one of them up and give them some human time and talk with them. They eventually will come right up to you.

This year I ended up sort of starting over, and have all Black Jersey Giants... They seem to mature a bit more slowly, but it is soo worth it. I just LOVE their temperaments. It has taken a bit more for them to be as comfortable around me and out in the yard than my Wyandottes, but they are figuring it out, and are now the funniest bunch I have known yet. I think it has a little to do with the fact that they are younger than they actually look (they are at 2 months the same size or larger than my Wyandotte hens) I'm so hooked.
