I have an oppurtunity to get some JG day olds & I was wondering

how much they eat ((everything I read says they are not econmical eaters)) & with feed going up it is a concern
I hear they have great personalities is this true?
do they breed well
&
anything else you can tell me

I have had 2 for about 3 years and I just got day old chicks in May at that time I got 2 more. They are very calm not loud and great layers. I am not sure about the feed question as they are also in with other breeds.

We raise both the Black and the White Giants. They are very friendly and all run up to us when we are outside. They are huge and forage well in the yard. They are beautiful animals and you will enjoy them !!

When I ordered chicks I got two for hooligan (a BYC member); one of which was a JG. Although I only had her for a few days I was impressed by her spunk. hooligan tells me that she has grown into a very loving chicken. I have brahmas, which are also not considered to be economical eaters. I think it's trade-off. You could get a bird with a better feed to egg ratio, but nothing beats these big ol' teddy bears. Plus, my brahmas aren't eating more than I expected them to.

Prudence (BJG) is a big love bug and even tolerates me dressing her up, tho sometimes she acts like something has attacked her and falls over lol
She sleeps on the couch when we are watching movies and has quite the personality.
As for the food she is with my SLC so I have no idea how much they eat lol

We have 4 Jersey Giants they seem to be calm and peaceful, they are grazers eating lots of grass we feed them vegetable, zuchinni, bean leaves, corn leaves etc, lots of diffrence types of grains, my wife gets them from were she works, they don't seem to eat that much or more than any of the others.
