Hello Everyone!
My name is Jessica and I have always wanted chickens of my own since I was a child. 20+ years later I had completed my dream! I bought the coop and made a run, and ordered 10 chicks from hoovers hatchery. One had a split beak and was not growing like the others and eventually died. I raised my girls from a day or so old.
I equip my coop by running electric out, set up an automatic door, two outlets and a light, and was able to have fresh water available to them all winter because I could plug in a heater water. My door is set to open around 0730 and 0800. I looked out the window and they were out happy pecking as usual. Around 0945 I went out to collect morning eggs and found they were murdered!!!
I am thinking a mink. The bastard got 5 of my girls.
