Jest Another Day in Pear-A-Dice - Higgins Rat Ranch Conservation Farm in Alberta

Nice to see Foamy traveling about with the girls.

All a matter of the girls starting to mature and behave (HA!) with Foamers willing to put up with them.

So the two year anniversary of this thread fast approaches...

Just a demonstration of how lacking the Net is...to reality that is!
hmm.png
'Cause when you MEET someone in the flesh...you probably would get to know some more about them than the virtual world seems so lacking in...you'd know some things right off in person...but sometimes...you can overcome the lacking shortcomings there are in this virtual world we spend time in.

Two years, near 200 pages, over 28,000 views...so...many of the answers have been posted on this thread...so who skimmed and who READ the posts or just viewed it for the photos (picture book, eh)?

Wisher did fantastic but, I think on summer weekends Rick, you and the girls go for a ride in the dog bus and get ice cream.

I think that you might be thinking of what she calls 'loser laps' that term seems to cover most any road trip for fun and getting some ice cream/ fast food or such stuff.
Scott

Edit to add, It's late and I need some sleep, I will look in the AM, Thanks!

Let's jest say I am super thankful I am not on Wisher's hit list...be no hiding incognito under her watchful and photographic memory! Good Gack...she's SCARY good! Got me shivering at me timbers, eh.
tongue.png

OK...I am undecided if'n I should comment jest yet about which ones she got right on the money correct or leave the rest of you guessing at which ones she did get right and which ones not so much.

Hmmm...OK...decided to say she got like six of the answers correct and leave the rest of you guessing at which ones.

I can say tho the "exotic dancer" profession is a bit much (but I did bust a gut reading it...thanks eh!
hugs.gif
)...not unless there was some place willing to hire me as part of the entourage for the dance of the baby hippos! In pink tutus...and why yes, I took ballerina lessons as a very, very young child...didn't help much in the graceful department but I can keep my balance when trying to juggle topping water and holding on to a scoop of feed in a slick pen of birds!
wink.png

Mad_moose.gif

I do have small feet for my size and that in itself is what earned my beloved's nickname for me...MOOSE...yeh, not petite cabbage (as the French may say), but MOOSE for the tiny feets that hardly suit the rest of moi!
lol.png

Wisher did fantastic but, I think on summer weekends Rick, you and the girls go for a ride in the dog bus and get ice cream.

Yes, Wisher is a force to be reckoned with...but there are still 14 more answers begging to be answered correctly...come on DD...give it a go...don't be shy now!
tongue2.gif

Scott

Edit to add, It's late and I need some sleep, I will look in the AM, Thanks!

Yes, loser laps indeed!

I got no sleep last night due to a late night call...any time the phone rings at that hour...I usually mumble something about "Who died? AND why do we have to know right now?" Can't they jest let us sleep and hear bad news ON a nightful rested mind... Sigh...thankfully nobody died...

Last week, mailboxes (jest as my Hero predicted...
barnie.gif
) got vandalized. Did not break into the multi delivery boxes but bent and warped the door on it enough the mail person could not deliver the boxes' mail...sigh...

The late night call that kept me from sleeping...no person died...the neighbour got rob and they called at quarter to 11 to ask us if we got robbed too? Course that ruined me sleeping any further and now I am up and full of my second cuppa java. Be a rotten day of dragging my sorry unslept butt about. Better I guess than a ring a ding about someone passing on...yeh...
old.gif

If I ended up getting ice cream I would call it winner laps.

Get some sleep Scott I know you can ace this quiz - think you are Tara's prize pupil.

I suppose that would be true...having an excuse FOR ice cream is a winner aspect!

Well here is my guesses.
Scott

Holy Toledo...DD...yer right...and he's male too! Major compliments to his wife...'cause we all know they get trained like this from constant attentions of the loving wifey! Heh heh heh
hugs.gif

Scott has thirteen and a half right of the twenty...and yes, I gave him FULL credit on the first question because that is the exact SAME answer my own spouse gave me...of over THIRTY YEARS and he gave me that reply back when I swatted his tete for thinking my eyes were BLUE!
Good
barnie.gif
!!
Wisher did an excellent guess on the eye colour because there are like 55% of us humans with BROWN eyes...so that was a better than half average to use that answer...good one but still searching for someone to tell us what colour my eyes are! Oh my eye...
roll.png

I gave Scott full credit for the goat number answer (just enough) and half a right answer for the number of trucks we have here since he was able to categorize the ones he listed ...there's one other special RED one I bought Rick for his 49th birthday...and yet more than that still...but not 187 like Wisher suggested...ha ha ha...need more land to park all those even if we do call my spouse "Rick Leno"... So number of trucks is some where between 9 and 187...

So unless someone else wants to have a crack at this...I am getting pretty ready to post my "answers."

Two years, eh...lots of blah blah and click pics on this thread...I AM pleasantly impressed that we were able to communicate this well with all of us never having met in person! Thank you...truly a surprise for me! I was expecting maybe two right answers...perhaps...maybe three...bwa ha ha...pleasantly surprised...

Heel low:

So here are me answers to me questions...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What colour are my eyes? GREEN
- Two percent of the human population have green eyes...so I be a rather rare coloured owner of windows to the soul, eh. Likely due to my genetics roots from Northern Europe...you can't run too far from your roots, eh. My Gran on my father's side literally burst into tears when I announced we had bought land for raising animals on. Sobbing she told me in her broken English..."That life is TOO hard!" but soon came round when I told her it was all about the FUN. Nothing serious, keeping our REAL jobs...that Gran was sure hilarious...spitfire of a woman and a real diva...she was and heiress of a huge plot of productive land and quite the catch for Grandpa who had literally nothing but his charisma...That Gran would give Rick a big smooch (yeh...sorta on the same level as the relatives that spit on Kleenex to wipe yer supposed dirty face!) and rattle on about his "golden hands!" Man alive, like leading a sheep to slaughter at our family gatherings...
hmm.png
What did I do for a living before I retired and round about what age did I retire at roughly to drive the cruel bus? ACCOUNTANT AT ~ 40ISH
- Wisher had me killing myself laughing...exotic dancer...yeh, get thundering right on that now!
rant.gif
- Not so sure tho Scott that as a bean counter I was stressed out too much. I did hate seeing rich people get richer...never made ANY of them one copper cent happier, eh. I WAS stressed at my second to last government job tho. Worked in an office that offered an alternative to bankruptcy. NOW that was a miserable employment...people would call in, a bailiff beating on their door screaming obscenities at them in the background--grown men crying (very unsettling & scary to moi). Huge backlog so we were booking appointments to see counsellors two weeks later...people not show, thinking did they have the biscuit and blow their brains out... We were outfitted with personal alarms, under the desk panic buttons, buzzed in and out of the office space we shared with Rental Tenancy (one time one side of a discussion grabbed the fire extinguisher off the wall and threatened their former landlord with it & anyone that wanted to intervene on the discussion!). We use to tell DARK humour to get thru the day...things like "can I borrow enough money to get outta debt?" Nope, that was a horrid place to be shackled to for a pay cheque. We had one seminar on Stress Relief where the instructor blurted right out, "Can't help you people...you need to all quit your jobs." Sum help, eh. NO matter--only stressors now come from when I bother to poke my toe outside the safety of gates to the sanctuary...or is that asylum?
roll.png
How many dog(s) live here right now? THREE Styra Foam, Lacy Jill (Spanish Lady), Emmy Lou (Tinker Bell) - that be the pupper dawgs of this DOG & (no) PONY SHOW!
yesss.gif
July 25, 2016 - Dog run runs
Finally, almost a year of time to pass and the three are some what, sorta a PACK...'bout time, eh!
he.gif
Foam Dome - April 2016
February 26, 2016
May 10, 2016
Whatever the season (green or white)...the two girl pups play ever so nice, nice...delicate flowers...the wild prairie type.
tongue.png
Little wonder old wise dog Styra avoids these two ROWFians...
barnie.gif
How many goat(s) do we have now? ONE registered NIGERIAN DWARF DAIRY DOE Heidi
Here's a photo of her mowing...she's got a very independent nature and loves being the lone goat...sigh. As Scott said, "just enough!" which made me roar...yeh, like totally spot on goat speak...
gig.gif
July 5th - Heidi
Blue eyed with moonspots...she luvs being the only goat...shares nothing with nobody!
What beast did we bring home last? REGISTERED DORPER RAM Boss Man
Boss Man after I clipped him
Jul 21, 2016
Boss Man grazing near his new home - the Screw Ewe Saloon
What is my favourite colour? CHROME
- Probably a BAD answer on my part because chrome ain't even really a colour...more like a mirror...heh heh heh.
wink.png
How many trucks do we own (give or take when we mow, that we may find another one)? SIXTEEN (give or take...I guess if it has an engine...it's a unit, right? So what about the 350 crated up in Rick's storage (jest in case, eh)...is that one more "truck" to add to the tally? Good GACK, I simply dunna know!)
Two 1928 Chev One Tons
One 1928 Chev One Ton for parts (along with two other frames cause you jest never know, eh)
Six 1936 Chev Maple Leafs 2.5 to 3 Tons
One 1980 Chev 4x4 Suburban - Blue & White
One 1984 Chev 4x4 1/2 Ton - Red
One 1988 Chev 4x4 Suburban - White
One 1989 Chev 4x4 One Ton - Navy
One 1984 Chev 4x4 (Rick's first and only purchased new truck parked)
One 1984 Chev Sunnrunner 4x4 (my old ride parked)
One 80's something? Chev 4x4 bought for spare parts
- I'll be telling Leno he can keep collecting...Lady in Blue says he's allowed 187...but not ONE more than that...one hundred and eighty seven units...
smack.gif
- I start laughing when we pull up to fuel and the poor, poor fella can't remember which side the tank is on...poor bugger...really pains me to hear that, eh. Then, of course, he hasta decide which one to take out for a drive...you know as you get older, frailer, less decisive...yeh, lotsa painful moments... Many guys think it's great to have a wife that "makes" them buy trucks for them to drive...but then the tragedy is that there is NO reasonable doubter whining not to. No governing body to command when enough is enough. I think we are plum full but then again...a mid-season DOG BUS as a third one in that category mighten work...if we move the tractor over just a tad, might squeeze another in the Parking Building...mighten yah know...
Bring out yer junk, eh. The Higginses could take it off yer hands...
ya.gif
What is pictured here new on this SUMMER bus of the dogs? NEW WHITE WALL TIRES - pretty penny but hey, they do look purdy good on her, eh.
celebrate.gif
- Kewlest thing...so Rick on Saturday decides to take the Summer Sub in to be retired (nope, nothing wrong with the tires she came with...all about the l00k, or is that, "Made you look?" We had driven some time ago up to Edmonton to pick these up...have to bring them outta the States, quite the ordeal but that be the car game). So he asks the tire persons, "You ever put whitewalls on?" Sure they say...so he does it one step further..."You have to use dish soap, not the stuff that melts the black rubber because it stains it..." and so he goes along to watch his baby get new rubber...old man, not suppose to be in the shop area but you tell an old man you're taking his truck...get right on that! Sure enough, the tire installer tries to put the white walls on backwards--facing inwards (people don't want the whitewall part showing...what the?? duh...the whole point on why they were bought...sheesh)... Next thing he knows, they got black gunk pouring down on the whitewalls...yup, softened the tire and off he had to go to carwash to scrub it off--several tedious hours of work...even bought two new brushes and busted one in the process and used up a whole bottle of whitewall cleaner...geepers, creepers. So long and short, he did get them installed, so much for the lazy, daisy Saturday morning easy task...but he did get the Summer Dog Bus tired up.
big_smile.png
When he finally heads for home, I've more than done the chores for the day and we load up girl dogs and go to town. Happens to be a show and shine in town, so he parks whilst I go inside a farm store to buy two new shepherd stock sticks (mine are so sun bleached they could bust any second...new ram, need a reliable way to handle him should I need to)...so inside buying two new sticks and come out. Rick is grinning a whole buncha. The lady doctor who bought and originally owned the Summer Dog Bus had come to the town for the show & shine in her last kept unit, a convertible. She's from the nearest big city and she had a nice chat with Rick. Told him it looked really good (she and her now passed on spouse had fourteen vintage vehicles in their stable). I missed meeting her but how kewl is that...day Rick gets the new whitewalls on the Summer Sub and how fate makes it so he links up to the original owner...and people say there is no such thing as fate...yeh, sure! How many things had to be just right...timing beyond measure for them to link up like that...yeh.
What project (and the name of it) am I doing with the Chantecler breed of chicken? HIGGINS' WHITE DOVE BANTAM CHANTECLER PROJECT
- Scott knew they were bantams...bravo!
yippiechickie.gif
What is my favourite movie that I own a copy of? THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY
- The theme music (Ennio Morricone) clip is on my dog website...jest LOVE that haunting music! Last of the Dollars Trilogy or Man with No Name (Joe, Manco, Blondie) - 1966 - Sergio Leone's epic classic Spaghetti Western is set during the USA's Civil War and stars Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach.
- If'n one is allowed one more as a close second, that favourite would be; LITTLE BIG MAN (1970 - directed by Arthur Penn with Dustin Hoffman, Faye Dunaway, Chief Dan George, and Martin Balsam.)
Who is my Hero? SPOUSE...whom when we introduce him (even he says this too), the "P" in his name is silent...digest on that one, eh.
lol.png
How many siblings do I have/ older or younger...what gender and what have I mentioned them doing for fun? ONE YOUNGER SISTER - OPERA SINGER, MODEL, ACTRESS, & PERSONAL TRAINER
- I guess I might be deemed the black sheep of the family because I don't give a hoot about social status as in what High Society deems desirable and correct. I am the COUNTRY mouse, my sis is the CITY mouse or social butterfly. She attends all the right events, dresses immaculate (she wears white when she travels...I can't get two paces in clean clothes before being marked by a paw print, crap toe, or splattered with muck), she drives a Beamer, sports a six pack (as in abs!), and has all the jewlery she has been given appraised. I like to think she is good in her environment, like I am with dirt under my fingernails in mine! LMBO
cool.png
What are my favourite two foods since childhood? SHWIMPS AND BOO-BERRIES
What is the BEST food we make nowadays & where do we have this food (which answers why it is a fav)? ANY FOOD ON THE MAN PORCH (like hotdogs or burgers) BECAUSE IT IS SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH FAMILY
What is the ONE & ONLY domesticated bird baby hatched here this year? BUFF TUFTED AMERICAN GOSLING
And here's two clicks of the "BABY" goose on the loose...
Acting jest like all the geese do so not so much a baby no more's...
Not much cute & cuddly about a hissy goose...oh well
Four doting "parents" so it could learn it up quick like!
Who in my family WAS the against the LAW chicken keeper in a Canadian city? MY GRANDMOTHER ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE
- Surprised Scott knew this one...good show!
big_smile.png
In a private e-mail, what am I most likely to do that I don't do here on this thread? SWEAR
- Ah, fudge you guys...I did quite a bit of giggling to see that people knew this quite well (heck, eh)...heh heh heh. It's an Albertan Redneck kinda thang, eh.
hmm.png
Name three of the types of "animal" associations Rick and I have been a part of. POULTRY, SHEEP & DOGS.
- POULTRY (Sanctioned Poultry Shows; APA & ABA / Rick and I started the Youth Exhibition Poultry Club in our area).
- SHEEP (Central Alberta Premium Sheep; CAPS).
- DOGS (Australian Cattle Dog Club of Canada; ACDCC / Canadian Kennel Club; CKC).
Wisher answered this one up nicely & Scott aced it totally...!
hugs.gif
What are Rick, myself and the ACDs most likely found to be doing on weekends in the summertime? LOSER LAPS IN RICK'S TRUCKS SEARCHING FOR A GOOD PLACE TO STOP FOR ICE CREAM!
- Yes DD...you aced the "ice cream" and named it best...WINNER laps. Scott knew it as we do...Loser Laps--going round with no real destination in mind...yuppers!
woot.gif
Which kind of genetic studies do I like dabbling in? (spell it like a Canuck and blow my mind, eh!) COLOUR
- And Scott did just that by adding the "U" in the Yank word spelt as color! Bravo--POP goes me tete!
lol.png
