I cannot even imagine how delicious your fruit is...mangoes and pomegranates that you grow yourselves.
I shall have to dress up in feathers and hide behind where the chickens reside ... try to be first in line for Pomegranates! Bwack Bwack BWACK! (I sure miss the chicken emoticons that use to be on BYC....!!)
Now do you have to be careful around your Mango trees? Something about the wood, leaves can be toxic (bad fumes if burned) and maybe skin irritations?
Some facts I found on Mangos:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Many Southeast Asian kings and nobles had their own mango groves; with private cultivars being sources of great pride and social standing, hence began the custom of sending gifts of the choicest mangos.
- Mango leaves are considered toxic and can kill cattle or other grazing livestock.
- The fruit of the mango is called a Drupe - consisting of the mesocarp (edible fleshy part) and endocarp (large woody, flattened pit).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another plant with fruit called DRUPE!
I see we may yet get rains today...I am soaker hosing my potatoes and need to go shut off the tap as it does look like rain! Yah...the grasses are so dry. Summer rain is welcomed.
