I hope that this is in the right place. I have a Jiffy-Way egg scale that I bought on E-bay. I remember using one as a kid and wanted one now that I have chickens. It didn't have instructions with it and because I was a kid when last I used one, I'm not sure what some of the info on the scale is. I understand all but the "leveling device" line with an arrow pointing to it. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

It's to show you if it is level or not.
If the hole device is crooked on the table, the leveling device will be slanted.
That answer your question?

Thanks for the information, but I guess I really don't get it. On my scale the leveling device line is diagonal on the scale. Even if on a perfectly level surface, the line is on the diagonal. If I push the egg holder as far as it will go down, it is at the leveling device line. If I put the scale on a surface that isn't level, I still can do the same thing. There is something here that I'm not understanding. Thanks for any help.

Post a pic for us!
It will help a lot.
Here ya go~

See the leveling device? That piece of metal will slant!
I hope THAT answers your question.

NOW I see what you mean. Mine only has the holes and is missing the metal piece. Oh well, it still weighs eggs quite accurately. I'll just have to make sure it is always on a level surface. Thanks so much for your effort to help me out.
