Hi! My name is Shelly and I live near Rochester, NY. I have been reading/learning/and loving this site for awhile now and am hoping to join in and get to know some folks better.

I have 8 hens that are almost a year old and 5 new, 1 week old chicks. I am just finding myself so in love with my chickens. Do any of you guys find yourself spotting other chicken coops as you are driving by new places and feeling some weird kind of connection and having to shout out, "OH they have chickens too!" Or inviting neighbors over and going on and on about why chickens are so amazing?? Please tell me its not just me lol.

Anyway, I really am loving keeping and caring for chickens and am so thankful for this amazing site!

I was born in Rochester and lived in Henrietta until I was 3. I grew up in CT but have happy memories of visiting my grandparents in Fairport and my cousins in Brighton! I notice chickens and coops too. And ducks and goats..... I kind of got carried away after joining
