Joining you from San Francisco!

Hello everyone!

I have been lurking and learning the last few weeks while we think about getting backyard chickens here in the City of San Francisco. I've never raised chickens but I am ready to learn and my two eight-year-olds are very excited by the possibility of pet hens. That's right, these hens will have names and when they stop laying I will become a victim of chicken math.

I'm looking to convert a playhouse into a coop and will post for advice on that soon. Meanwhile, I look forward to reading all about chickens in these forums and hopefully maybe someday I will learn enough that I can contribute as well.
