Judge these silkie roos

I am trying to decide what roo I want to keep. Any input would be great.

Just from the profile shot, I would go with the first one.

Check for horns on the comb. I prefer the cushion on two, as cockerel #1 has too many hard feathers. Two is more s-shaped, but looks narrow. No mention of feet. #1 appears to have the better comb, but it depends on if either one has horns at the top of the comb covered by the crest.

How old are they? If they are young I would keep both and wait to see how they look in a few months. I have had some late bloomers that end up looking far better than I thought they would.

Just by the pictures I would say roo #1. How are the toes? I agree with Ultasol, check for horns (you definitely don't want horns). Do they both have dark eyes? Blue ears? Do they both have all toenails and all 5 toes? Hmmm roo #2 does seem to have tighter wings and a better cushion....... BUT roo #1 does have a bigger crest, beard, better type, comb, and from the picture looks to have better feet feathering.

Cockerel #2 has much better wings. What females are you putting the boys on? I would wait another few months to make a final decision if, other than crest and comb, they are otherwise equal. Check toes, check for vulture hocks, check eye color, check comb for horns, check for split wing.

Oh, and technically the feathered toes 1-3 don't HAVE to have a toenail. It's not a DQ anymore on FEATHERED toes 1-3.
