July 18th "Due Date"! Anyone else?

My chicks are here!!! There's around 20 of them but they sent a couple or a few extra porcelain d'Uccles. One easter egger is really weak, and of course she has to be the really pretty one

. Other than that the rest of them are healthy and running around all crazy. We have a water dish in there until the chick water thing is done being cleaned and I think we aren't going to put that in there because they enjoy the water dish soooo much! They all jump around in it and get water EVERYWHERE! Its so fun to watch though!!I'll post pictures soon!

Congrats! I would be careful with a dish of water--the chicks could drown. They fall asleep sometimes while getting a drink of water. I had to pull a few beaks out of the chick waterer because they fell asleep with their beak in the water trough.

Thanks!Ya, were being extra careful to make sure that doesn't happen. There so fun to watch! I grabbed a chair just to sit out in the garage to watch them!
I have one that's acting weird and looks like something is wrong with its feet or foot, I posted about it on here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=544690

I have been thinking about you and your chicks since yesterday, almost afraid to come here and read a sad ending. I am soooo glad that you got them safe and sound! I think we all worried a year off of our life stressing about shipped chicks.

YIPPEEE!!! Soo happy for your news!!! I was holding my breath too and am so happy that all is well!

Thanks! Shes making some progress on getting better so hopefully she'll make it.

Glad you got your chicks!!!!! When mine came there was a couple that kept acting wobbly and especially the Buff Laced Polish who would fall asleep with her head in the food dish!! After about 36 hours and my making sure that they had some time with only the red heat lamps on so they could sleep, she was fine and is ALL OVER the place now.

Crazy how we get soooo worried when they are acting sleepy isn't it??? I mean they are babies and look how busy they are!!!

Please keep us posted, I am following your other post too.

I just was so happy to read your post when I got back from the store! To upload pictures, you can find directions in the FAQ thread. I founf the easiest thing to do is click "uploads" in the blue top banner, and follow the prompts to download jpegs from your drive. It will then automatically resize for posting and will give you a link, or whatever you call it--and you can copy that and just paste it into a post. Can't wait to see!

You'll see...you won't get ANYTHING else done in the next few days...
One thing I should have done was stock up for us people for the next few weeks, so I wouldn't have to leave my chicks! My darling husband pointed out that we're low on food and drink and even though I've been home all day, my dinners aren't up to the usual snuff!
(Really just kidding--he's cut me some slack. )

My garden is an awful mess and the flowers on the front porch are wilted...new priorities! LOL

YAY!
It's very likely that your EE will bounce back--I had a weak chick that worried me sick, but all she needed was a rest. She may be a different chick in the morning. Just make sure she drinks. Mine didn't seem to be going to the water dish, so I used a child's medicine syringe to bring water to her--very carefully. Just a drop on her beak at a time.
Let us know!
