Looked under Scarlet and found a fuzzy! One fuzzy one external pip and at least one chirping egg I love broodies, so much less anxiety lol

I'm hoping one of these hatches turns out to be a broody! I would rather do it that way for sure

Today is Day 20 and woke up to 3 pips already. Compared to other recent hatches, this is a good sign. I have not had much luck with Marans eggs before, and one of the pips is a Marans! Doing the happy dance.

I have one marans egg in here as well, & I saw veins but so hard to see any movement. I am thinking of throwing it out, but I should probably wait to candle again to see if its grown like the rest.

Ok got my bator warmed up and moved the fuzzy to a brooder and the pip and chirper to the bator. Now the anxiety begins lol. Ill check on mama every hour for more pips.

So if how do you know when you have an internal pip? is it when you hear peeping but no external pip?

Woke up at 2 am to 2 fuzzy butts! These are Gold Laced Brahmas I won in a contest. Shipped from GA to MO. I will have to recommend this farm. Out of 12 eggs not 1 damaged air cell. 11 went into lock down, 2 have hatched, 6 pips, 2 of those are zipping, and this is day 20!!!!


Also, picking up 3 dozen silkie eggs on Sunday! Going to finally get to use my new incubator!!!!!

yes, and if you candle you can see its beak out in the air cell space.

This is an internal pip. They are holding the egg upside down though!!!! You can see where the beak has broken through internal membrane into the air cell.

wow thats amazing for shipped eggs. i have had such bad luck with shipped eggs. and they were from OH to PA only

This is what's confusing me... I thought only the apocalypse would warrant me opening the bator during lockdown?
