JULY HATCH ALONG!!

I'm late to the party but this is my first incubation. I'm not sure if I should be here, or wait till the August thread, lol. I have 12 roughly shipped silkie eggs that I put in last night, so I guess this is day 1. I don't know how you all do this, but I was up till 6:30 this morning worrying about humidity, with 3 things saying different humidity percentages. I'm like a nervous hen. Will be heading to Walmart here in a bit to get a better thermometer.

I'm jumping in a wee bit late but I have 5 babies due to hatch TODAY!!! I have 3 eggs with pips already so looks like it will be an exciting day!

The babies are a cross of white sultan and crested polish. I have one baby girl about 4 weeks old from them already and she is adorable. Has a big Mohawk. My daughter calls her "the teenager". Lol

Will post when babies are out!! So excited!!

hard work ahead.

So about 8 hours later and chick 1 has hatched and is full of energy and cheering her siblings on... Giving chirpy moral support. We have pips in 3 of the 4 remaining eggs. Here is a pic of the next one about to hatch with older sibling behind....

Oh my, so cute!! What kind of incubator is that?

I'm using a Brinsea Mini. It holds seven eggs with the turning feature. This last had I turned him myself. It's only my second time using it but I really like it.

Back to the babies… So four out of five hatched yesterday. We are very excited. All of them are a cross between our white Sultan and our silver polish crested.
Two babies are white and the other two are black and gray. More pictures coming soon
