Jumbo Brown Coturnix

I live an hour or so away and he is supposed to have my order ready at the end of june and I'm goin to pick it up myself. He said he doesn't let people tour the facilities tho.I was hoping to see some of his birds but i guess its good for his flocks

I received an email back from Robby in regards to some general questions I had about his birds and the raising of. He got back to me right away and said that because he gets hundreds of emails, I should send him a phone # and time for him to call me. He says he can tell me more in an hour than I could ever get from a book or internet search. And to have a pen and paper ready for notes!

Now this is an opportunity I can't pass up, and I can tell you that he's already got my business for when I'm ready to order! From this offer and his emails, I can certainly tell you that he's nothing less than "top shelf" in my book!

Hunter, thank you for the education on the AM's, I'll keep their aggressiveness in mind.

I did get a quick reply from JMF regarding quail eggs. It seems he is sold out until fall, which tells me that there must be a high demand for quail eggs, as well as JMF having an outstanding reputation for quality! He doesn't ship during the hot summer weather months.

The other forum that I've eluded to is That Quail Place. I like that forum, for the fact that it has good solid information. Although the forum seems to be inactive and a lot of the latest posts go back 6 years or more.

One section that I did find extremely informative on that forum, and wished that this forum also had, was the Supplier Feedback section. Where one can discuss the pro's and con's of their purchasing / selling experience. As I had mentioned in my previous posts, that I'm finding that their are a number of dishonest vendor's looking to take financial advantage of others in this industry, whether it is through direct advertising or ebay sales. So I definitely believe that a Supplier Feedback section is a good way for an industry to police itself internally by disclosing those unscrupulous offenders.
I am not sure what the problem is. You found the best site for information regarding raising quail and as for dishonest breeders selling quail products on line, ebay has a feedback page that lists comments for both buyers and sellers. Terms like dishonest vendors looking to take financial advantage of others, and unscrupulous offenders, makes the quail business sound like we are all bunch of criminals. There a number of ways to steal money from people on the internet. Selling quail products is not one of them.

Slider, sorry if I ruffled a feather or two! My comments were of a general nature based on the reviews I read on the Supplier Feedback section of "That Quail Place" forum. You might want to read that section. I said there were "a number of vendors", I DID NOT say ALL vendors. You might want to read my comment again.

You claim this to be the "best" site for information on raising quail. That is a debatable comment. As a person wanting to get into raising quail, the Supplier Feedback section, that THIS forum lacks, is seemingly a valuable forum asset when it comes time for one to make the first initial purchase of hatching eggs. There is nothing worse or more disheartening, to dampen ones spirits, than when undertaking a new hobby and having to incur a bad business deal right from the start!

So from YOUR comments Slider, I can deduce that you believe ALL folks that deal in quail are as honest as the day is long? And that perchance there should ever be that one unscrupulous business deal by a seller, that the purchaser should just over look it and send the seller more good money after bad? You must believe that the feedback section on ebay is for comments that are positive in nature only, and not to serve as a "heads-up" to your fellow quail enthusiast? Just because someone calls another out on a bad transaction through a negative review, does not mean a positive review cannot follow when the seller makes right on the deal. That is how you police the industry from within, and works to lessen the bad taste of a deal gone sour.

Nothing personal Rick and I wish you the best of luck if you decide to wade into the murky waters and shady dealings of the quail business but somehow I expect that you will be disappointed.

Slider, as I posted above, I do expect a call from Robby, who I'm sure will clear any murky waters. He has made a generous offer of instruction to me, which in my book puts him at the top of the list of folks who display a genuine and honest interest in the promotion of the business. I have read reviews from people who have dealt with him, and his character, business practices, and willingness to help are second to none and beyond reproach! I look forward to doing business with him myself.
