I have noticed that my french are not any bigger then the normals, but they are heavier, I have to feel them to tell the difference. When they are side by side, I cant tell them apart, but when I feel them I can feel the difference. I keep my french in the hen house so I can tell them from my others. I only have the one hen now. I would like to find me a male, the neighbors dog killed my male. I would like it to be pretty close that I could drive to pick it up then to have to ship it.
My normal ones free range and the hawks dont bother them, but does get a chicken now and then. Last year the hawk got about 15 or so of my chicks that were pigeon size or smaller. Of course it had to get the more rarer and pricer breeds.
