So last month TSC was desperate to get rid of some 2 week old ducklings. They got new stackable brooders that do not hold up well with older babies. Got a great deal 20 ducks for $30 bucks! I sold most of them and kept the 3 largest for eating. Well it turns out the largest duckling, that I assumed was a drake, Is a quacking girl. Not just that but I'm positive she is a jumbo. She is already larger than my 2 adult female pekins. This summer I am working on a pekin/muscovy project. I know you get mules but I have read they are great for eating. So my question is are jumbos OK for breeding? Or do they develop health problems? It would be cool to use her as a breeder. Talk about some big ducks.
