Ok so seeking advice here. I have 7 ducks right now. A pair of 4 month old of Welsh Harlequins separated because the female is the only mature(ish) girl right now and the boys love her . So she stays in a coop with her WH guy. Then I have two 2 month old Mallard girls, 2 Harlequin babies (praying girls) and a 4 month old jumbo pekin drake.
My question is....The Jumbo pekin is alone in the coop with the mallards. Right now that is fine but when they are old enough, is that going to be an issue? He is seriously 10 lbs or more heavier than they are. I’m concerned about him trying to mate and squishing one of them! When everyone is old enough I hope to put them all together again and had planned on getting one more girl so there were 6 girls and 2 boys. Four of those girls will be WH’s and 2 the mallards.
That was a lot of info for my basic question of will a jumbo pekin mate with a tiny mallard without hurting her?
