Jumping Chicks

Question, is it normal for 2 week old or any age for that matter chick to try to jump out of the brooder? Or does this mean they are too confined or not happy in any way?

chickens jump. In general they jump, your chickens may specifically have not enough space but that isn't nessecarily their reason.

My chicks, who are about 13 days old have also just started to try to jump out of their brooder. I am sure that it is not because their brooder is too small though. I just put a roosting pole with my chicks, since then they've been stretching their little necks out to "peek" over the brooder, then they make a jump for it and perch on the edges! I think they're just curious little guys.
