Hi there, I'm Katie and I'm brand new to chickens! We just got our first babies earlier this week (June 7) from Meyer Hatchery. So far, they're thriving! We have six, all different breeds: buff Orpington, lavender Orpington, black Australorp, blue splash Marans, Plymouth barred rock, and a golden laced Wyandotte. (I was most excited for the lavender Orpington, haha.)

I live in Michigan and I also have a pit mix, two cats, and I'm a mom. My husband and I recently started our first garden this year and we're looking for ways to make ourselves a little more self-sufficient in these uncertain times.
