Came home right at dusk and went to go check on my girls and fill their feeder up. I do need to get a bigger one made for them. anyways as soon as I was coming back with the feed, it seemed like the tractor was getting bombarded with June bugs hitting the wire. I'm guessing it was some sort of mating deal with them, as it it seemed like lot of them were getting together with one of them on the back of the other one. Anyways, I was in there and i started to grab the ones that had come inside of the hardware cloth of the run and tossing them down to the girls, who quickly gave up going after their feed pellets and was following me around figuring that I will soon have another one down for them soon. Must have spent at least 5 minutes doing that.
I was just wondering if there was anything else anybody else here would happen to know about the life cycle of the June Bug that would explain why they seemed to be so attracted to my chicken tractor? was it just happened to be the first big object around in the yard and near a field that was a convenient spot for a june bug orgy, or was something else going on as well??
