June/July 2013 Homemade Ornament Swap ~~SIGN UPS CLOSED~~

Wow pressure cooker horror stories...maybe I won't get one (it's on my wish list). I've never frozen green beans but may try this year, you can pickle them too and use the old water bath method to can them. I've not done it but was thinking about trying that this year (just google dilly beans and you'll find lots of recipes)

I still owe pics of the ornaments I received, will get them as soon as I can!

If you blanch the green beans they won't loose their color and retain their crispiness, also peppers of any type you can just stick in the freezer no blanching and it's great when you need a bell pepper etc in the middle of winter tips to know if you are afraid of pressure cookers.

glad you liked the ornament, that means Paulsmuffen got the yellow one.

the chicken ornaments are great aren't they just love them, maybe another ornament will come for me today

Hey Crissy, I got one just like your second one... I love it. Btw, do the ornaments have to be chicken related??? I sure hope not or I'm in trouble.

My hubby wont let me touch the pressure cooker during canning season. I can help do everything else, except the processing. My brother had a pressure cooker blow up in his face when we were kids. I'll never forget that day! My mom got rid of it and has never owned one since.
As long as you pay attention you will be fine.

Ornaments look great everyone! I can't believe I missed the June/July one for the second year in a row. I'll be ready to sign up for the August/Sept. one!

I got my ornament from Chrissy today
