Just 6 weeks til my ducklings arrive....lend me your wisdom

:woot Still getting appleyards or something else?

I ordered the smaller Welsh harliquins.
I am hoping they are as sweet as the ducks I had so very long ago.

Okay for ponds, my thoughts are the easier to clean the better. I am currently using those cement mixing things from Home Depot because they are easy for me to dump by myself. Then a spray with a hose and a quick refill. The less of a hassle the better. It can fit up to 4 ducks at one time.

I did get a free claw foot tub off Craig’s list I will be turning into a pond this year but my expectations are low and I’m gonna keep the cement tubs too, because they work so well

I will look at those cement tubs too.
I am wanting easy to clean and still big enough for the ducks to enjoy.

I will admit that they aren’t particularly pretty but they blend in more then the plastic swimming pool.

I don't think they are ugly. I have seen pics of them dropped into a simple deck (thinking it is to cut down on mud from splashing) and thought that it looked pretty good.

@Runner duck mom uses one and they've put a drain and ball valve in it for easy clean up.

Such beautiful ducks look forward to seeing them.

Hello. How exciting is that? Your getting Ducks!
A simple pen is a 10X10 dog run that's covered. Large dog house to sleep in.

I am super excited to be getting quackers. :p
It has been a long long long time since I had some.

I have a nice big chicken run that I will be mucking out, adding sand, putting in a pond and adding the cute little buggers. The coop is my 8x14 chicken coop that has electric in it.

I have way more chickens than I need so that will be getting handled before the ducks are in there. I am reducing my chicken numbers so they can live happily in my 6x8 chicken house.
Yes the ducks are getting the bigger space.

Me too! I had silver appleyards when I lived in the sticks. Well and cayuga, black swedish and pekin as well.....the appleyards were very pretty.
I am thinking the welsh should be just as enjoyable but in a smaller package. :D
Hubs doesn't want boring black ducks lol....black ducks ARE NOT boring.
