I am setting up a first aid kit for my birds. Similer to what I had for my horses but I was wondering about a product called underwoods horse medicine. I used it for my horses when I had them and it can be fairly hard to find around here but it worked wonders for major and minor wounds. Is this safe to use for chickens? I know it works like a miracle drug. I can not remember what it had in it just know it took a life threatening wound on my horse and saved his life.

I don't have horses, but since you're putting a chicken kit together and you have horses too, I decided I'll mention Corona ointment. It's mainly used for horses (for cuts, dry skin, ect.) but also works if your chickens have scaly leg mites.

I'm sorry that this was not on your topic! Hopefully someone else can help out as well.

I'm not sure. Horse meds are stronger than chicken meds. I would spend the money and get some triple antibiotic ointment , and some antibacterial wash like chlorhexidine at the drug store.
