I have a turkey that went broody and i dont know anything about them do they come out to eat or do they just stay on the nest and how many eggs can she have ?

ill tell you all i know from my grey slate turkey
make sure you dont bother her because even if she feels a bit threatened she wont sit on them anymore. my turkey usually has about 8 eggs under her but ive also seen a turkey sitting on 21 eggs xD i know this sounds stupid but she needs a tom so the eggs are sure to hatch
i wish you two the best of luck with the baby turkeys when it comes to be time :D
(a little thing I feel like i should share :) my turkey went missing for a long time and i finally found her in the woods sitting on eggs (this is when i first got her and her tom) i scared her by accident and i couldnt get her back on her eggs so i put them under a broody buff orpington i had and she hatched out 6 little turkeys :) i was so confused though because they didnt look like her except for they had grey wings... then i found out that she must had found a wild turkey tom and my chicks were a cross breed

im always afraid that someone is going to shoot them cause i live in a place where hunting is common so i made neon orange vests they wear when it comes to turkey season and thanksgiving time :D i had to tell everyone who lives by me too

Good advice, just leave her alone. Her metabolism slows way down when she is sitting on eggs so she will not need much food or water, but put it in close proximity and make it available when she is ready. Happy egg hatching.
