Just a random question....

So here's my question. Why do my chickens sometimes get really red faces (their combs, waddles and, i guess their earlobes??) and other times they are all a nice pale rosey pink? They are all acting fine and this is a change i've seen their faces make since they were hatched. Just wondering what you guys thought!

Usuallly a pullets comb etc will be paler then just before she starts to lay it will redden up. It will go paler again when she stops laying for winter and to moult.
