It was cold here as well. The person who plants the flowers and tends the beds has been doing the two beds for years. Most years they get a good showing. I think they go for early planting with some of the flowers.
Tip: Buy a good camera with the possibility to phone, download apps, send/receive messages, listen to music and search info on the www.
Ours now have (well, tomorrow morning will have) two separate areas to yard-range. They’re out 3-4 times a day, but rarely stay beyond 30-45 minutes. Then they put themselves back in the run, often in the coop, and then just preen and sleep. And discuss. Lots of discussing.

It's a good point. Even budget phones have surprisingly decent cameras now, more than good enough for journaling. All the non-fancy photos I post come from a cheap-o iPhone SE.
With the longer days, they forage for most of the morning and later evening but from 11-6 they tend to spend their time in various shady spots, like the trees, or pampas grass.
I really have been surprised with how good phone cameras got.
I have an fz80. It's a great camera, if a little bulky and spendy (used = much cheaper!), and takes awesome pictures without needing to futz around with lenses and settings. My eldest takes some great pictures on her mobile phone; at close to ten times the price it bloody well better. We've taken similar shots in similar conditions and mine look pretty poor in comparison.
I'm not a wait for a shot type of photographer. On a day to day basis I just want to take snaps. The thread is a diary of sorts. But, I would still like better quality pictures. Funnily enough, I don't want to spend much money, particulaly on a mobile phone, which I detest, and will resent more deeply than the cheap, six year old mobile phone that follows me about now.
Three hours today. Still busy making slow progress.
There are some plants in an old plot that the previous person said I could take and now someone want's the plot so I need to move them quickly.
I moved five fennel plants earlier this week and they are struggling but haven't died yet.
Fret's spurs are growing. She's always had a bit of a spur on one leg which is now quite long and the other leg has over a quarter of an inch.
