If I give my pullet Tylan orally, exactly HOW do you administer the dose. Obviously adding it to her water would not be effective. I have heard you have to be careful about aspirating chickens because they not have an epiglottis and can easily swallow liquids down the wrong way.

And...what would be the proper dosage?

Tylan 50 dosage is 0.25 ml (1/4 ml) per pound given orally 3 times a day for 3-5 days. It will only treat mycoplasma (MG) and may help with coryza, but does not treat viruses, such as infectious bronchitis or ILT.

To give it orally I have hidden in a small amount of egg with a tiny bit of plain yogurt. Just make sure they take it all. To give it orally, hold the chicken under your arm, and pull down the wattles or chin feathers to open the beak. Give a few drops or 1/2 ml, then release the wattles quickly to swallow. Then repeat.
