Just a simple question abt feed

All i need to know is how do i give the chickens oyster shells....do i put in their layer feed or a bowl will do. I also have grit for my chicks do i do the same for them? thanks all for your help...

I give oyster shells and grit in a bowl to the side.

Yes, they know to eat it when they need it... it's best to put it on the side in a bowl so they can regulate how much to get. Also, if you have roosters, especially not good to add to the feed. Roosters don't need that extra calcium and know not to eat so much of it.
