Today I was redoing the roost in the chicken coop I had cut 4 2x4s 67in long, carried them done to the coop leaned them up against the side of the coop, naturally they fell and one hit one of my hens, at first I thought it broke her hip or leg it for sure knocked her silly, for a few minutes I thought she was hurt pretty bad, but after about 10min she was fine again. Couldn't even tell anything had happened to her. I really felt bad though I was trying to make things better for them and almost killed one in the process form now on I think and thing heavy enough to hurt one I will lay flat on the ground.
