last week we had another bout with winter and it`s putting my coup behind schedule. We had -10F with wind that made it about -25. I`m converting part off an old lean too into a coup and the one end was 6 inches deep of water and then it froze solid. Thank God for this warm spell this week. Just a small corner now with some ice and water in it. This was ruffed in closed a few years back and now has two doors with a nice window and A gravel floor pounded in hard , except this one corner. Straw is stacked ready to spread, laying nests are made and filled with straw . Roost is cut and ready to install. (going by the wet spot) Waterers and feeders ready. Feed is in sealed containers. Now we are just 6 days away from when our chickens arrive. We are getting 30 red sex links, ready to lay.
Just needing to yap about it since I`ve asked all the questions and worked hard to be ready but just being held up by the weather. Can`t wait till the day arrives. April 13 is the day. wwwwooooooo hhhhhoooooooo.
