Just added 5 Narragansett

Picked up 2 males and 3 point of lay
Narragansett Turkeys. Built a pen that provides each Turkey 50 sq feet each and looking forward to raising young. Will post image of the beautiful birds soon. Cheers.
I do not recommend keeping two toms in the same pen with three hens. You only have enough hens for one tom. I try to keep at least 4 to 5 hens for one tom. It makes life much easier on the hens.

Keeping two toms in the same pen with three hens will cause the toms to constantly try to prevent each other from breeding the hens. If one of the toms tries to breed a hen, the other tom will knock him off of the hen's back. This can cause the tom to scramble and injure the hen while trying to remain on her back. In some cases, the injury can be severe enough that the hen is killed.

There will also be poor fertility due to failure of either tom to complete the breeding act.

If the toms are kept in separate pens, hte second pen needs to be out of sight of the first pen or the toms will just walk the fence trying to get at each other instead of taking care of their breeding duties.

Good luck.

Appreciate the input. One Tom is older than the second Tom and the pecking order is firmly established. Having said that I will heed the advice by strict observation at this point.
