Just amputated a chicken leg

Pixar was in pain before I even found him. He would have died a slow and painful death if I had not helped. He wants to live. I will not put down an animal that has a chance to live a happy life. Yes, it was painful and I don't have the money for a vet or anesthetic or painkillers but he isn't in pain anymore. He is happy and healthy and he will be able to live a full life. He isn't afraid of me anymore and will sit in my lap and eat from my hand. He knows I won't hurt him anymore. I posted this thread to get help and advice from people more experienced than me. I never claimed to have medical training and I was completely honest about the lack of painkillers. No one has said anything until now, when Pixar is completely healed and healthy. I did speak to an avian rescue and they suggested the same things as people on this thread. You are entitled to your own opinion but banning someone for having a different viewpoint seems wrong.

I agree with Everose and Tundra.
Even though it may seem cruel at first, what Tundra did was very brave, and it saved little Pixar from a slow, painful death. You are entitled to your own opinions, and I think it's good that you are looking out for this, but if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it.
Not trying to start an argument here, and I'd hate if this thread would have to be closed

I wasn't suggesting you should be banned for having a different opinion, I was suggesting you should be banned for animal cruelty.
I wouldn't define what TundraFang did as cruelty. I think when trying to save a life, there is sometimes additional pain inflicted in the process. Her intent was not to hurt the chicken. But to save it. This is just my opinion. And everyone is entitled to their own. I think she exhibited bravery and decisiveness in order to give the chicken a chance.

I agree and it probably wasn’t easy for tundra either to cut off a leg of a chicken.

💯

What's done is done. Pixar made it because of Tundras quick thinking and ability to remove the leg. Now we get to see the cutie grow up, there's no reason for anybody to be punished or offended.
