We had an extra rooster, a mix between a red sex link and easter egger, and decided to take that first step in eating our own birds. Gathered our 3 boys around, used the broomstick method, plucked and cleaned it up and refrigerated it over night. Put it in a pot and made a nice broth, strained, pulled the meat and added a couple bags of those frozen noodles. Added some veggies and it was by far the best chicken noodle soup we've ever had. Was nice to involve the whole family in every step, and really good to know, for once, the chicken we're putting in our bodies.
