Just been given 6 geese, many questions please help!

Thanks tillyvita. I have just begun to hand feed one of the Ganders of the flock. hopefully the trust increases from here! i dont think i will have much luck putting them into a pen yet, they are very quick to hop in the lake so i dont think i could catch them! they are all going great so far though... eating and swimming happily. becoming more and more noisy too which i love (call me crazy.)
What do you think the prospects of them breeding are? will they cross breed? or just intrabreed?
I know this was for tillyvita, but they will cross breed. and I forgot to say I started whistling for my flock and when they hear me whistle along with shaking the bread bag they come at a fast clip, so get them into a routine you'll be glad you did, and what is a wedge tail?

A Wedge Tail is a large eagle. This is one that was most obliging and posed for photos when I was on holidays.

Pretty bird, we have Eagles here too, very big Eagles, I'm pretty sure one got a Muscovy duck that lived on the river down the road from us, I wanted so bad to bring that duck home but couldn't get to her on that part of the river too steep, one day there was an Eagle sitting in the tree right above where she hung out, never say her after that.

Do ya'll have Hawks too?

Yes have hawks too. Wedge Tails have been known to kill adult kangaroos - so not unthinkable for them to take a goose or lamb. I had a juvinile Peregrine Falcon hanging around last year that took several of my baby chickens before they were too big to get through the chicken wire. I'm trying to work out how I'm going to keep my gooslings away from them when our breeding season comes round. My chicken coop has nets over the top to stop the aerial predators - so when the goose "run" is finished I will probably have to do something similar.

Would probably be the best idea to cover the run with netting, Thank goodness here by the time we have ducklings and chicks still waiting on my goose to go broody, we are under cover of tress so it does make it a bit harder for the large birds of prey to get in here. I worry more about the Blue Jays getting my chicks and of course snakes. So far the chicks are a week old and mamas seem to have it under control. Theres a video on youtube showing a falcon taking down a Canada goose I have to say I couldn't watch it too upsetting. Thats amazing an Eagle could take down an adult Kangaroo.
