What model did you get? I have the Octagon 20 and love it! Had it about 5 years now and it’s as reliable as ever. Totally set & forget incubator.
If you have an Octagon my top tip would be to make sure the tubing is replaced regular on the pump so that it keeps its tension. Also when setting it up make sure you have the little plastic tube through the incubator lid on the evaporation pad before you attach the tubing. Then just before you wrap the tubing around the pump motor suck the water through the tube to the end and nip it. Attach to the plastic tube once you have wrapped it round the motor. This way the pump does not have to spin for ages before the water get’s to the pad.
