My daughter decided to pick a duck out this time at the feed store. They said it was 3 weeks old. I did not get the breed of the duck if that matters. I will ask when I go back in. I was wondering if there is anything I should do special for ducks that I don't do for my chickens and turkeys. What can it eat at this age? I just have some all purpose poultry feed in there for now and water of course.

Is there a way to tell its sex?

Thank you!

You need to get another one. You can not just have one duck, it will be lonely. They are very social, and they do much better with more than one. you got to get another one. I have two pekings and they never leave each others side. Mine at that age ate grow crumble.

mine eat chick starter. i agree you need atleast 1 more. i got 3 and a week later got another one. the 4th is alot smaller but the big ones stall pal around with it and take care of it

For now it will be an inside pet I thought that would be enough company and when it gets a lot older and bigger I thought it could go in with the turkeys? Is that ok or no? I thought going in with the turkeys would be better then with the chickens. I heard chickens have different diseases in their poop then ducks and turkeys? I have 2 indoor coops each has a separate run....I did not want to have to build another coop and run.

Still wondering about the sex if there is a way to tell?

Thank you!
