I had to go away today. He's got food and water I'll update when I get homeIs he pooping anything besides foam? If not, that would line up with the hernia hypothesis.

No I usually change their newspapers once a day. He's been outside in the chicken tractor most the day. I'm hatching quails atm been bit consumed. I think I've had 3 chick deaths today. Not very happy atm need sleepHe *looks* healthy. I would recommend giving him something more absorbent than newspaper. Do you have wood shaving? Newspaper gets gross and messy fast!

Thank you, your probably right. He's still isolating atm doesn't seem to mind being by himself I'll put him with the girls in a week or so. Very loud crow ahaI’ve had very dominant males with large red bulges where the foam is. It looks very much like your photos, the first time I noticed the red bulge from a distance I was really concerned, but I removed him and pressed it and got a ton of foam. If you got no foam it’s concerning, but since it’s gone down now that he’s alone and pooping foam, I’m thinking maybe you just didn’t press hard enough or the right area, because this is what has happened to well endowed alpha males when I remove them from the group, or when they are knocked out of their place by a new male. In my experience, they even seem to get smaller, without losing weight, I’m guessing they adopt a taller and maybe slightly puffed out posture when they’re on top, to seem as large as possible, and when they’re not in charge they make themselves as small as possible to keep the alpha from targeting them.
