just built incubator

well, determined one to be a quitter a few days ago and had another due a couple days ago. It was pretty dark green so candling was difficult, but could see no movement or hear nothing. I decided to poke a little hole in the big end of egg and check it out. No movement at all, so pecked away a little more. It was obvious the chick had quit and development wasn't even close to hatch ready so I guess that incident was just too much for it at that time. On a good note, the sack seemed very wet and pliable inside, which has been a concern because I couldn't really get the humidity up where I wanted it, so I have been lightly misting occasionally. I have several more in there due in about 4 days and they are white shelled and I can see in well, and there is movement in there, so they have made it so far.

Well, One succsessful hatch, another pipping out as we speak, and I can hear another chirping, so I reckon it went better than I thought so far.
