Just Candled the 12 eggs under "Chicken Little"

And all but one looked good....my son broke it into the rubbish bin and it just yolk.

And all 4 in the chilli bin were good too.

So after 10 days we have 16 good eggs.

I put the ones from the chilli bin under "Chicken Little" so now I can make and finetune the incubator for when we move to our home in the country.

And how is a 9 month old chicken going to look after 16 chicks? ...if they all hatch...

I only have 3 now.
I had 10 but 4 weren't fertile and the other 3 died, probably due to unstable temps.

Mine are due on the 31st October

11 days doesn't seem that far away really.

If this is the % hatch rate for these eggs, I'll be back for more later from the same lady. Set 20, 16 good so far.

DH says I will have some "FREAKY" chickens if they hatch on the 31st -- he says it's no telling what I'll hatch out!!

Hoping Chicken Little will let us handle the chicks when they hatch..

Twice a day I go out and pat her, talk to her and offer her food and water.

She doesn't fluff up as much now and she doesn't object now to being patted/strocked.

9 days to go to hatching.
