If you could only have 4 chickens, which would be your "must haves"?

Wow that is really hard, these are all chickens that I do not have just in my dreams:

1 beautiful show quality blue laced red wyandotte
1 Blue marans
1 bearded black silkie
1 of these:

Of course I wouldn't trade the 4 chickens right now for any of these but those are just birds I would want to have in my dreams. I love the chickens I have right now, they are the best and sweetest chickens ever.

I like a rainbow pack of eggs. So If I could only have four they would be.
1.Marans or Barnevelder for dark brown eggs
2.Isbar or Ameraucana for green eggs
3.Legbar or Wheaten Ameraucana for blue eggs
4. Orpington or cochin for a light brown egg.

4 Pullets.

I have 3 BR and 3 BO…once you raise them from baby chicks and it is a fun experience, you would likely choose the same again.

Are you trying to decide what to get and can only have 4…if so, IMO pic the ones that suit your needs and climate and have friendly personalities and you cannot go wrong.

It would be hard to choose just four breeds, but I really like:

1. Light Brown Dutch bantams
2. White Wyandotte bantams
3. Large fowl Blue Ameraucanas
4. Large fowl heritage type Rhode Island Reds

I also love Columbian Wyandottes.

Some of the breeds/colors that I really like are (note: I don't have all of these):

1. Columbian Wyandotte
2. Brown Red Cochin bantam
3. Blue Orpington (English type)
4. Salmon Faverolles

Really, I like most purebred, show-quality, heritage-type chickens.

I like the above four breeds, but also really like Rhode Island Reds (heritage type), Ameraucanas, White Plymouth Rocks (show stock), Orpingtons of all colors (especially English type Orpingtons), Cochins (love blue the most!), Old English Game (white), Buckeyes, and Buff Brahmas.
