I did it all myself! I have picked lots of rhubarb to make/can jam. I'll freeze some rhubarb, too.

I once heard it said that frugal does not mean cheap!

And I agree. My hubby and I aren't out buying the cheapest thing to get us by. We think about it, research, and save for things.

We finally finished planting ours today, too, but hubby had to do it himself as I canned all freaking day...lol Now that you got it finished, you need to kick back, relax, and take a nice long soak in the tub or something...lol

(at least that's what I wanted to do, but it got too late and now I must settle for a shower...

I'm Joyce...I'm a shop-a-holic. I need to learn to be frugal. I think we are going under...a result of my 'buy now pay later' mentality. I feel hopeless. I need all the help I can get. Somebody help me, please. I want to do all this stuff...I think I need therapy or something...

You can be frugal. Sure you might be in a bit of a mess right now, but you can change it. Right now, it feels like you are drowning, but you can make it and learn to swim and get yourself right on out of that water! Remember, this is just stuff, just money -- this is not what life is about. You are important, people are important -- things and money should never be placed above yourself, others, and the relationship that you hold with people. There is hope and you want to change -- that is a great start!!! As mentioned in other posts, Dave Ramsey is a great person to look to for guidance in getting out fo debt.

i'm right there with you Joyce. I hate that feeling, like your head is just barely above water amd you have to struggle to keep it there. I completely understand! Ii think one thing I am in ther process of learning is that I can't keep hiding from it and ths that continuing to do what we have always done isnt going to work. I hatefacing the news we have made. it's embarrassing! But if I don't, it won't get better. So we are struggling along, one day at a time. W make little mistakes, regroup, then trudge forward a bit more...and hopefully it helps to knew yoy aren't in it alone!

Joyce, the doctor visit might not be a bad idea. Another thing you can do is go to the library (NOT THE BOOK STORE) and get a copy of Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Also check your local AM radio station programs lists for his show and start listening.

The doctor idea is a good one. I have been diagnosed as depressive and am on medication for it. But I admit, it does make me feel good to get something new and cool every so often. But you can limit that to once a month or something, and only things that you actually need or will use. For the other stuff, I've trained myself to think of the cost and decide if I really need it or if I can make it or just do without it.

You can do it!
