When your chickie babies are growing out their combs (mine are 5 weeks old), do the roos' grow faster and larger than the hens? I have five that have much larger combs than most of the others. I am curious so that I can separate these from the hens and grow them to sell/butcher/etc. I have never before processed a chicken so the butchering is a bit off-putting at the moment.

I know that it is very difficult to sex young birds but this may be a tell-tale sign of roosters sexual maturity at this age. Any clues from any of you members/experts? Thanks so much!
