Just realised I never came back to update this thread. She's absolutely fine now!

A week or so after the original surgery, her foot was much better looking, the swelling between the toes had gone down, but she still had a puffy swollen and hot ankle. As the wound on the bottom of her foot had healed over by then, I didn't want to go cutting her open again, so I gave her three more antibiotic injections. I didn't want to go on medicating her for too long, so after three I stopped even though her ankle was still swollen and hot. It took her a while to fight off the infection, but she managed it and is now perfectly recovered.

All the way through her treatment she stayed alert and bright eyed, and she never lost her appetite. If she had, I would probably have euthanised her. You can tell when a chicken is losing interest in living, and thankfully it didn't happen to her. She's still way skinny cause of her awful crossbeak, and I still take any opportunity to feed her up separate from the rest of the flock, but I guess she's probably always going to be a bit underweight. Apart from that, she's just fine though.

Thanks everyone for all the advice and support. I couldn't have done it without you!
