Well I am in South Carolina, in the north western portion. It freezes here and snows only once or twice a year and will only stick (and inch or 2) for a day or 2. I sometimes gets down into the teens for a couple of days in a row. 

That's not too bad as far as the temps go. The coop will still need some ventilation in the winter anyway, as long as there aren't any drafts directly on the chickens. Do you get very strong winds there? I'm 5hinking there are hills, mountains nearby that the winds can get strong anyway?
