I keep going back & forth with this one. 😂 nothing is screaming rooster yet, but it's harder to tell with mixes.
This little guy is a blue australorp x plymouth, currently just over 7 weeks old. The photo is from today.
The ONLY super stripey baby we got. Hoping for a pullet!!

Is the Plymouth Rock the mother or father? If the mother, then it’s a male, as that would be a sex linked cross and only males would be barred. If the reverse, I would say it so far looks like it might be a pullet, based on comb and wattle growth. A very cute chick either way! :love

Oh interesting thank you!
They were actually fertile eggs I got, but the person I purchased them from said that the mother hen was the plymouth. That's such a shame! Going to have to figure out a way to keep it haha! 🫣 it's such a cute little chick & very inquisitive.

I was guessing a rooster, but that is pure guesswork looking at the legs, and I can see where the comb and wattle are. But definitely DON'T rely on my guess lol. Very pretty though.

You’re welcome! I’m sorry he ended up being male, since you wanted it to be otherwise. I hope you can keep him too.
