I am sooo afraid of this!!!!!!!!!!!! Who knows if there were other eggs in there from some other kind of bird.

The tree she's in is the tree they roost in every night, it's familiar to her. It's full of nests from those huge nasty blackbirds, they're a good size, but Slow Mama is teeny tiny

doesn't take much for a little banty to cover a nest!

I'll take pictures tomorrow as DH rescues her from the tree!

Wow that is so cool! What a smart little chickie! Wow that is one determined chicken! haha lol!

Just in case you can't get her down: We have chicks fall out of our hay loft all the time. The first ones we found roaming around the barn, NO mamma. What the heck????

So upon furrther inspection, the area over the "office" that has a ceiling is open somewhat on the side. The hens were able to squeeze in there and lay eggs. And lay eggs did they............many many many eggs. And one hen sat on a few of them and who knows how, but hatched out several. Once we found her and reunited her with the roaming chicks, we tried to close it up. (Removed many old, very very old, eggs) and still on occasion, a hen will sneak up there and hatch chicks. We find them after they have fallen down to the bottom, which is about 12 feet. So, I think the chicks will be okay, if mamma hen doesn't get nabbed while sitting. Good luck getting her down. One last thought, I went to one chicken auction in my life, and in it was a tiny, little bantam hen.........sitting on a nest. They sold her, nest, eggs and all. Really, she never even considered moving off that nest. Was amazing. They packed her and nest to the front, sold her, and packed her and nest out to the waiting area to go to a new home. Gotta love those banty moms. HenZ
